Due to popular demand we now carry a specially designed new system, with a fluoride and arsenic reduction element.This element works in conjunction with a Doulton filter to reduce the fluoride level by more than 95%. This element will filter 1000 litres before it needs to be replaced.

These reduction elements are designed to work in conjunction with a
Doulton Super Sterasyl Ceramic Filter.This combination of 1 Doulton Filter, & 2 Fluoride Removal Elements, will give you 2000 Litres of filtered water, enough for approximately a year of drinking water, before you need to purchase the replacement filter & elements.

Berkey PF elements :
Contain inert high-grade activated alumina, the most efficient way for extracting fluoride from drinking water. These element works in conjunction with a Doulton filter,and will reduce these unwanted impurities by “absorption”.
Fluoride by : >95%, Lead, Arsenic, MTBE, DBCP, THM”s, Herbicides+Pesticides, & heavy metal ions.
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
*Fluoride : Testing for fluoride was based on 20-30ppm of the ion in the influent aqueous solution at a flow rate of no more than 3 gpm (11 lpm) per cubic foot of media. Results of < 1ppm of the fluoride ion in the effluent were typical for the media (>95% reduction). Under optimum conditions, effluent concentrations of less than 50 ppb were readily achieved (>99.75% reduction).*Arsenic: This product uniquely targets the entire family of arsenic oxide anions as well as the arsenic cations.
*Lead: Tests have shown that when 7,500 litres of influent water at a concentration of lead of 150-200 ppb pass through 200 grams of media at a flow rate of 1gp , the lead level was reduced to less than 1ppb (99% reduction).
*MTBE (Methyl-terteiary-butyl-ether): Berkey PF-4™ elements are manufactured to exceed ANSI/NSF standard 53 which requires that MTBE be reduced by at least two thirds from an influent rate (water going out) of less than 5ppb (>95% reduction*) *Actual capacity is dependent on the presence of other competing contaminants in the source water. High levels of total organic carbons and volatile organic compounds may reduce the capacity and efficiency of the elements.
REPLACEMENT:
Under normal conditions it is recommended that each PF-4™ element be replaced after 1,000 litres (or 2,000 ltrs if you are using two elements in your system). If you consume about 5 litres a day of filtered water you would need replacement every 6 months in a system using 1 filter and 1 element at a time. Every 12 months if using a system which uses 2 filters and 2 elements. Actual capacity is dependent on the presence of other competing contaminants in the source water. High levels of fluoride, arsenic and heavy metals may reduce the capacity and efficiency of the elements.Caution: Filters Must be Primed BEFORE USE!
